Was it fun? I have a friend with a RSX that wants to try it out.

Very fun! Just do it responsibly- in an empty lot or something. Also realize that "tray" should refer to metal, because you'll burn through a plastic McDonalds tray in about 3 donuts.

Now, where to find metal trays?

Exactly. Only ever did it with plastic, but my first thought would be pizza pans or cookie sheets. Though I'm also imagining the possibility of sparks flying, which is both dangerous and appealing...

Who knows if this would work, but what if you stacked multiple plastic trays?

There's only one way to find out!

Yup. Super fun. Just hoon responsibly.
As others have said, plastic wears through quick - especially on dry pavement. Wet or icy pavement will get you more smiles for more miles.

Yours Truly. But this was a bad lot out back the shop. Couple co-workers had never seen it done, and of course I stalled it after first doughnut. we used what we had in the warehouse, but plastic burns up pretty quick. Apparently metal trays heat up pretty hot

How does one attach said trays to the rear wheels/tires?

Those big, heavy duty metal pans (like thick cookie sheets) that restaurants use are your best bet. And of course a strong parking brake.

How is the RSX? I see one the neighborhood over from me all the time and picking one up for $5k would be pretty fun...

Reverse and pull hand brake.

Ehh, his is a slushbox. FWD is bad enough. I would go Miata and I'm not even a MX5 fanboy.
